since jake hasn't put very many of his own pictures on his facebook, i've been "stealing" pictures from all of his ywam friends to be able to post here!! from what he shares & from talking to those friends of his myself, he has made some really awesome ones...friends that, because of all they've experienced & shared together, will be life-long ones. that was, no doubt, another part of God's plan in all this : )

he was definitely excited about leaving last weekend for fiji for 6 weeks of outreach ministry!! he will be very limited on communication & internet access while he's there, so updates will be harder for him.

please pray for him...i know he'll appreciate that so much

may...babies, birthdays & baseball

i love the month of may...i don't really know why...it's just a fun month!!
the name is even cute...the first day, known as "may day" is about flowers & ribbons & dancing...& for me, it's about babies, birthdays & baseball : )
it's the month that made me a mom...twice! it's the month i celebrated my "first" mother's day! it's the month i was born! & it's a month that's always been filled with lots of baseball...ever since matthew was 4 & playing city league tic-tac-t-ball!!!!

this "may" is a time for graduations!! matt graduates from chico state on the 23rd & sam graduates from 8th grade at fcs on the 30th...new beginnings for them both : )

matt & ashlie will be moving to durham, north carolina in august, where matt will be going to duke university's physical therapy school for the next 3 years & sam will be moving on to, i can't believe it, HIGH SCHOOL!! yay...4 more years of high school sports!!

this past sunday, my 22nd mother's day (wow, that's a lot), was a really good day with my kids & my family...except that it was my first without jake : (

those are the words jake said to me just 2 days before he left for ywam...it's an incredible & humbling feeling to be ministered to by your son...i am blessed...& so thankful : )

& "God's got HIM"...He is being so faithful to jacob! faithful to speak...faithful to teach...& faithful to be so evidently healing his heart! the joy & peace & contentment that i hear in his voice when we talk is unmistakable...hearing that in him, gives me the same!

since he has limited internet time for posting pictures, i thot i'd just share a few...he is obviously having A LOT of FUN along with all the good God-stuff that's goin' on!!!!

when i found out that the FCS Mexico Outreach trip over spring break was cancelled, i was soooo disappointed : ( ...i love serving in Mexico...it totally blesses me! .........so since amy & sam were off for the week too, we decided to take a trip to DISNEYLAND!! amy, sam & i, & two of their friends, flew down on monday & spent the week in the "magic kingdom"...it definitely is the "HAPPIEST" place on earth!!!!

it was a bittersweet day...but blessed by God!! taking my son to the airport to fly half-way around the world was hard...but knowing the call that God has on his life is so exciting!! to me, as a mom who has prayed for him everyday since i found out i was pregnant with him, there is incredible joy in the anticipation of what the Lord is going to do in him...how He is going to use him. and i know that through all the circumstances that have been a part of his decision to leave for YWAM right now, that jake has listened intently for God's leading and God was faithful to speak. i am confident that no matter what place we are in, Jesus promises to use it all for our good & for His glory...& i know He is with jake in all this. for that God...i am so thankful.
SO GOD HAS CHOSEN YOU FROM AMONG YOUR FRIENDS; HE HAS SET YOU APART WITH MUCH JOY. PSALM 45:7
